Role Overview: The Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining and repairing internet network infrastructure, including wires and signal equipment, to ensure continuous connectivity for customers. This involves working outdoors in all weather conditions, monitoring signal leakages, and reporting repairs to keep the network operational 24/7.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain and repair network cables from hub sites to customer connection points
- Monitor and report signal leakages and outages
- Collaborate with maintenance teams and other departments to optimize network performance
- Perform work independently outside in various weather conditions
Qualifications & Skills:
- High school diploma or equivalent; 1+ year of cable experience
- Technical proficiency with test equipment, electronics, and basic math
- Effective communication skills in English, both written and verbal
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and organize effectively
- Flexible to be on call, working in all weather conditions
Preferred Knowledge: Understanding of HFC networks, RF, coaxial and fiber systems, and experience in telecommunications installation and maintenance.
