Role & Responsibilities:
The Facilities Custodian ensures the safety, cleanliness, and proper maintenance of center facilities, materials, and equipment in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, including Head Start Program Standards. They collaborate with the CSM and Transportation & Facilities Coordinator to conduct inspections, repairs, and maintenance. The role involves promoting a safe and healthy environment, supervising children by sight and sound at all times, and facilitating health practices to support learning and safety in indoor and outdoor settings.
Qualifications & Skills:
Minimum of a high school diploma or GED and 6 months custodial experience are required. Knowledge of maintenance, inventory management, and supply purchasing is essential. Effective communication with children, parents, and staff is necessary. The role demands a focus on health and safety regulations and the ability to work in a team to promote school readiness and safe environments.
